Easter 2012

This year Easter fell on our 6 year wedding anniversary so we had plans to celebrate. First we planned to go horseback riding on Saturday but unfortunately Jace will not take a bottle or eat solids so we had to cancel. We then had a couple of other ideas but Damien got sick so we went out to eat and he pushed through. We had great BBQ but I am not sure Damien could really taste it.

That night we decorated eggs with Drew, who was so excited the Easter bunny was coming.

In the morning, Drew was so excited! He was so happy that the Easter Bunny came and he got to do a an egg hunt that the Easter Bunny left
Unfortunately, Dame was even more sick so he stayed home and the boys and I went to my moms
I don't think Dame wants his picture up here from this day! Next year!

Trains

Some of our neighbors told us about The Sonoma Train Stop so one day I decided to surprise Dame, Drew and Jace and pack us all up to arrive at the station. Drew took a short nap on the way and opened his eyes to the surprise as soon as the car stopped. We all got out and entered the cute lil' place...

They have a train that goes through tunnels, over bridges and stops at a "little" town. This "little" town has animals to feed and these little houses. It was so cute and so much fun. Jace hung in the Bjorn with Dad for most of the day except when Damien took Drew on his first roller coaster ride.

We then grabbed some food at a great Burger Joint in Napa...YUM!

Christmas 2011

This was our first Christmas with two children and Jace wasn't even a month yet, so he slept most of the day. However, Drew enjoyed it to the fullest. It was the first year he really grasped it. We heard so many times "when hohoho coming"? Of course that lead to a lot of jokes between Damien and our close friend Gary.

Drew loved seeing the lights, eating Christmas treats, pointing out all the wreaths on our walks, smelling Christmas trees, checking out the ornaments, helping wrap gifts and of course opening gifts. It really made the Christmas holidays magical.

Drew decided that he wanted a blue car from Santa so when Jace was two weeks old. Damien, Jace and I went to Toys R Us. The store was packed, the shelves were pretty empty but Santa was determined. We found a big drivable blue car and a few other things. The hardest part of the night was NOT finding the gift, feeding Jace in the car or being tired. It was finding room to fit the car in Damiens Mazda. So Damien took the box apart, and threw the car and all the pieces into the trunk. We still need a bigger car.

It was all worth it to see Drews face light up on Christmas morning!

Another Beasley Boy

On November 26th around 1:30 am I began labor, of course on my families Thanksgiving. We don't have Thanksgiving on Thursday as most do because we can't all be together that day. Of course this year would be different

I called the advice nurse and woke up Damien, and I think he wanted to go back to sleep but he knew it was time so we had to figure out what to do with Drew. Drew then woke up shortly later because he had went pee in the bed! It's like he new the baby was coming. It was the first and only time so far there have been any accidents.

When we got to the hospital it was a long walk and a big disappointment to hear I was only 3 centimeters dilated with 4-5 minute contractions. This time we got in a room pretty quickly and I decided to have an epidural. If I were to change anything about labor, I wouldn't have gotten one. I had not got one with Drew.

I had the help of Damien throughout the labor, except when he went to get coffee and pancakes. He needed that coffee even if it wasn't Starbucks. Danielle and Camila were also there and helped to keep me calm throughout. My mom was there and most of my family joined some time later. When I thought it was time the nurse came in and said I was 9.5 centimeters dilated and that she would be back in 15 minutes! WHAT?! Oh and she said NOT to push! Damien could not believe she was leaving and a minute or so later I said I had to push. He went to get the nurse. The baby was crowning by the time they got set up. I pushed two times for maybe a minute before Damien announced "It's a Boy!"

Of course that's what we thought or at least I did because Damien has always joked with "I don't have girls in me".

Jace Ryan Beasley was born at 12pm, weighing in at 7 lbs 12 oz...two on two out!
